A Smoke-Free Homes Pilot Project

The Smoke-Free Homes Pilot Project is funded through the National Cancer Institute’s State and Community Tobacco Control Research Initiative. The project is a partnership between the Georgia Department of Public Health and The Emory Prevention Research Center. The project aims to develop, test, and disseminate a program to create smoke-free homes through the Healthy Homes Initiatives coordinated by the Georgia Department of Public Health (GDPH).

The Initiative is a cooperative agreement for scientific research projects that address important understudied aspects of state and community tobacco control policy and media interventions. Focal areas include secondhand smoke policies, tax and pricing policies, tobacco industry marketing and promotion, mass media countermeasures, and community and social norms.
